May Day 2009

This May Day, International Workers Day, is the first for the Workers Party in America. We send greetings to our brothers and sisters across the U.S. and around the world as we all continue the fight against exploitation and oppression.

International Workers Day began as a struggle for economic justice and freedom for working people. From demanding the eight-hour day to fighting for the right to organize into labor unions, May Day has historically been the day when workers come together, regardless of their differences, and stand side-by-side for their rights and livelihoods.

This year, the Workers Party sends special greetings to our brothers and sisters participating in the fourth annual “Grand March” protests for immigrant workers’ rights.
